Job summary

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a proactive Management Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract at the Stourport-on-Severn site in Worcestershire. You will own site financial reporting, partner with production and engineering teams, and drive business performance with a hands-on finance approach.

The ideal candidate will have manufacturing finance experience, be studying towards CIMA, and have a strong track record in management accounts, costing and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing finance role.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis.
• Budgeting and forecasting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and site financial reporting.
• Post month-end journals and support month-end close activities.
• Analyse spend and budget variances, identifying opportunities for corrective action.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow forecasting processes.
• Maintain and develop the standard costing system.
• Monitor inventory accounting, stock valuation and cost variances.
• Provide financial insight to production and engineering teams.
• Drive working capital improvements and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Support Capex planning, justification and monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies and reporting requirements.
• Partner with site leadership to provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations.

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Technical Ceramics business in Stourport.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional with manufacturing experience who is looking to take ownership of site financial reporting while partnering closely with operational teams to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for someone who can combine strong financial skills with a hands-on approach and the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.

• Experience as a Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis.
• Budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a CIMA qualification (or similar accountancy qualification).
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar manufacturing finance role.
