Job summary

RG Consultancy are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant in Stockport to support day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and assist in month-end processes. The role suits someone looking to progress towards a Finance Manager position within a growing SME.

The ideal candidate will have CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualifications (or working towards) and strong IT and Excel skills, with experience in accounting software. Flexible hours and study support are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
• Experience as Management Accountant or Finance Manager within a fast-paced SME.
• Strong IT skills including MS Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting processes across multiple entities.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure trial balances are up to date.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances and highlight key findings.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Ensure sales and purchase ledgers are accurate and up to date.
• Monitor outstanding debts and flag potential payment issues.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with annual audits and provide supporting financial documentation.
• Liaise with other departments to gather and validate financial information.
• Contribute to improving financial controls and support ad-hoc finance tasks.

The role is a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant who is studying and looking to progress or would equally suit an experience Senior Management Accountant who can step into a Finance Manager position

Person Specification

• Experience within the engineering or a similar sector would be preferable
