Job summary

RG Consultancy Ltd are recruiting a Management Accountant to join their finance team in Rochdale. You will manage the company’s management accounts and support the Finance Manager in day-to-day financial control.

The role requires at least 5 years in a similar position, strong MS Excel skills and experience with SAGE/SAGE Payroll. Retail/distribution experience is advantageous; on-site working with a pension scheme and flexible hours are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a management accountant role.
• Strong IT and MS Excel skills with experience in accounting packages (SAGE/SAGE Payroll).
• Part or full professional qualification in CIMA/ACCA/ACA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts.
• Review bookkeeping, ledgers and transactions.
• Check bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review journals, accruals, prepayments and VAT reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Monitor accuracy of financial records.
• Review payroll and resolve accounting queries.
• Provide financial reports to management.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Improve accounting processes and controls.

RG Consultancy are working with a fantastic SME in Rochdale who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team. You will join a small accounts team, being responsible for the company & management accounts, reporting into the Finance Manager.

Role Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts
• Reviewing bookkeeping, ledgers and financial transactions
• Checking bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
• Reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments and VAT reconciliations
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Monitoring the accuracy of financial records
• Reviewing payroll and resolving accounting queries
• Providing financial reports and information to management
• Liaising with external accountants and auditors
• Improving accounting processes and financial controls

Person Specification

• Experienced management accountant with at least 5 years' experience within a similar role
• Strong IT skills along with strong MS Excel skills and experience with accounting packages incusing SAGE & SAGE Payroll
• Part or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Experience working within a retail, distribution or wholesale environment would be an advantage
