Job summary

A leading logistics company is seeking a part-qualified accountant to support financial reporting and analysis across depots. The role includes maintaining Profit & Loss statements, preparing monthly accounts, and assisting with budgets. The successful applicant will have strong Excel skills and preferably experience in a logistics environment. This position offers a hybrid working structure, enabling you to work from home at least two days a week.

Job Description

• Maintain and update weekly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and supporting documentation.
• Complete daily reporting on revenue, costs, and volumes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for depots and regions.
• Analyse variances against budget and prior periods, highlighting key issues.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare accruals/prepayments.
• Support depot managers in understanding financial reports and KPIs.
• Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements.
• Travel to depots as needed to support training and financial reviews.

The Successful Applicant

• Part-qualified accountant
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in logistics, transport, or a similar operational environment is desirable.
