Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday inclusive (office based). The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role.

Main Purpose of Job

This position is intended to provide financial support for the Metals (Glossop and Ickles) businesses within Howmet Aerospace. The role reports to the Controller of the facilities.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

The job description outlines the duties and responsibilities that an employee is expected to undertake and provide the framework against which their performance may be reviewed. It is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties and other duties can be allocated as required to meet the needs of the business

  • The provision of timely and accurate management accounting information such as daily sales.
  • Detailed analysis and understanding of costs, including driving cost reduction initiatives across the business.
  • Working with location teams to drive efficiencies in business data collection and usage.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements across the businesses, and implementation thereof.
  • It is a key duty of the role to ensure that colleagues understand the management information supplied and correct actions are taken as a result.
  • Involvement of the preparation of month end accounts through to completion in line with internal reporting deadlines.
  • WD2 reporting requirements such as sales analysis, flux analysis, NFI’s.
  • Weekly P&L review with the financial controller.
  • Reconcile the accounts in line with ASAT requirements.
  • Weekly and monthly wages posting.
  • Monthly VAT submission.
  • Inventory review with operations and commercial.
  • Inhouse scrap review with the sites.
  • Review of policies and procedures within finance and embedding them into the quality management system.
  • Review of journal procedures.
  • Review of email automation.
  • Improvement and audit of internal procedures. Ownership of required ASAT objectives within Auditboard.
  • Assistance with internal & external audits.
  • Any other duties as may be required by the controller, Plant Managers and Segment Controller from time to time.
  • Support of Plant Managers and Segment Controllers as required.
