Job description

Your new company

You'll be joining a large, established and highly successful manufacturing business with an impressive operation and plenty happening across the organisation. The finance team is highly involved in the business, giving you the opportunity to get out from behind the spreadsheets and work directly with operations, procurement and supply chain.
For someone looking to build a successful career in commercial finance, the exposure here is excellent.

Your new role

Working as part of a supportive finance team, you'll take on a broad role where you'll be encouraged to ask questions, challenge the numbers and understand what is really happening across the business.

You'll be involved in:

  • Analysing operational costs and identifying what is driving performance
  • Working directly with operational teams to understand and control spending
  • Supporting profitability and margin analysis
  • Producing meaningful financial analysis for managers and senior stakeholders
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintaining accurate financial information within the ERP system
  • Supporting inventory and stock reconciliations
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Getting involved in projects outside the normal month-end cycle
  • Building strong relationships across finance, operations, procurement and supply chain
  • As your knowledge and confidence develop, there will be the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and broader commercial exposure.
What you'll need to succeed

Attitude is important. We're looking for someone who is ambitious, bright, hardworking and genuinely wants to develop. You don't need to know everything already, but you do need the curiosity and drive to learn.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numbers
  • Good Excel skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to challenge
  • Confidence communicating with people outside of finance
  • The ability to take ownership of your work
  • A genuine desire to progress your career

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, production or another operational environment would be advantageous, but potential, attitude and ambition are just as important.

What you'll get in return

This is where the opportunity really stands out.
You'll receive:

  • Full study support
  • Excellent exposure to senior finance and operational leaders
  • Genuine commercial finance and business partnering experience
  • A broad role rather than being restricted to one area of accounting
  • Support from an experienced finance team
  • Exposure to a successful and growing business
  • The opportunity to take on greater responsibility as you develop
  • Genuine scope for career progression
  • Lunchtime finish every friday!!

If you're currently in a role where you feel ready for more, this is the opportunity to step up.You'll need to work hard and be prepared to get involved, but in return you'll gain the experience, exposure and support to accelerate your development and build a serious career in commercial finance.
