Job summary

Marks Sattin Ltd. is partnering with a growing manufacturing business to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager. This role blends operational finance, business partnering and leadership development, with a clear progression plan.

You’ll work with manufacturing leadership to understand that the best financial decisions come from the operation. Costings, stock movements and shop-floor issues are all within scope to ensure meaningful financial insight.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally FMCG).
• Strong costing and inventory management experience.
• Hands-on approach: spend time in the operation to understand performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and analytical capability.

Responsibilities

• Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Ownership of product costing, margin analysis and manufacturing performance reporting.
• Business partnering with operational leaders to improve profitability.
• Lead monthly stocktake, inventory management and valuation processes.
• Investigate variances and provide actionable insight.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Deliver meaningful KPI reporting and commercial analysis.
• Support process improvement and ERP deployment in finance transformation.
• Develop relationships across finance, operations and senior leadership.

We're partnering with a successful and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Finance Manager into a highly visible position reporting directly to the Finance Director.

The Role

This is not a finance role confined to the office. We're looking for a hands-on Finance Manager who thrives in a manufacturing environment and understands that the best financial decisions come from truly understanding the operation. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, building strong relationships with operational teams and senior leaders alike. Whether it's challenging performance, reviewing manufacturing variances, understanding stock movements or investigating issues on the shop floor, you'll be comfortable getting involved to understand the real story behind the numbers. Costings experience is absolutely essential. The successful candidate will be someone who can confidently analyse product profitability, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure financial information is both accurate and meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We're looking for an individual who combines strong technical capability with a proactive, sleeves-rolled-up attitude.

You’ll ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment, Ideally FMCG.
• Strong costing and inventory management experience.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to spend time within the operation to understand business performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
• Experience improving processes, controls and ways of working
• ERP Implementation experience
