Job summary

AB Agri Ltd is recruiting a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Peterborough on a hybrid basis. You will partner with senior stakeholders, deliver accurate management accounts, and provide insightful analysis to drive informed decisions across Group Services.

You will manage budgets, forecasts and cashflow, maintain controls, and support technology cost reporting. A qualified accountant with strong Excel skills and multinational experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Strong management accounting, financial reporting and financial controls experience.
• Excellent Excel skills, including financial analysis, reconciliations and large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and recommendations.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial reporting and challenge on costs and recharges.
• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Own cashflow budgeting and forecasting for Group Services.
• Manage key month‑end activities including payroll journals, reconciliations and headcount reporting.
• Maintain financial controls, asset registers, chart of accounts and capex processes.
• Support Microsoft Licensing and Azure reporting to improve tech-related cost reporting.
• Ensure recharges are allocated and recovered across the business.

Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Peterborough (Hybrid)

Are you a qualified Management Accountant who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful business insight? Do you thrive on partnering with stakeholders, analysing performance, and helping drive informed decision‑making within a complex, fast‑paced organisation?

At ABF Group Services, we're looking for a talented Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate management accounting, financial reporting and analysis across Group Services. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, helping to manage budgets, forecasts, costs and recharges while providing valuable financial insight that supports business performance and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:

• Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts, delivering meaningful variance analysis, commentary and recommendations on key cost drivers and risks.
• Business partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial reporting, insights and challenge around costs and recharges within their areas.
• Supporting the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring costs are effectively managed and deliver value for money.
• Owning the Group Services cashflow budgeting and forecasting process.
• Managing key month‑end activities including reporting packs, payroll journals, balance sheet reconciliations and headcount reporting.
• Maintaining financial controls, including ownership of the fixed asset register, chart of accounts and capital expenditure processes.
• Supporting Microsoft Licensing and Azure financial reporting, helping enhance reporting for technology‑related services and consumption‑based costs.
• Ensuring appropriate recharges are implemented across the business so costs are accurately allocated and recovered.

What you’ll bring:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Strong management accounting, financial reporting and financial controls experience.
• Excellent Excel skills, including financial analysis, reconciliations and working with large datasets.
• Previous business partnering experience, with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
• Experience working within a large, complex or multinational organisation.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Well organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Location

Hybrid, a mix of office and homeworking. This role will be based at our Peterborough offices on the Lynchwood Business Park.
