Management Accountant

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with a client operating across the Transportation sector, collaborating closely with key stakeholders, such as Local Authorities, Train Operating Companies, Network Rail, TfN, and the DfT, to drive positive outcomes.

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000

Location: Manchester ( Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days in the office/ 2 days WFH )

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is proud to be partnering with a Transport governing body who are looking to secure a Management Accountant to join their finance team and play a key role in delivering an effective financial and management accounting service.

Operating at the heart of major infrastructure programmes, you will act as a trusted partner across the organisation, providing expert advice, developing robust financial systems and processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Deliver an Effective Accounting Service for the organisation, Providing timely and relevant financial reports to clients and the Boards.

Contribute to the development of financial regulations, policies, systems, and procedures.

Manage Transactional Processing while overseeing the procurement and expense management systems.

Support monthly payroll processing and HMRC arrangements and provide regular management information to stakeholders.

Contribute to the Annual Statement of Accounts and government returns.

Support continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures.

Monitor and evaluate financial performance and forecasts.

Assist with financial guidance and support to client Directorates.

Provide input on accounting, expenditure control, and budget issues.

Maintain continuity of service during absences to ensure consistent financial operations.

Due to the hybrid policy, you need to be living within an hour radius of Manchester

Required Experience:

Fully or part-qualified accountant ( CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CIPFA )

Proven experience in financial management within a public sector-focused environment, skilled in financial systems development and reporting
