Job summary

Hyra, a West London-based construction and property services business, is seeking a Management Accountant to own the monthly finance cycle and deliver meaningful financial insight across divisions.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead the full month-end close, prepare divisional management accounts, support WIP reporting and revenue recognition, and provide concise management packs to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' UK-based, in-house management accounting experience.
• Ownership of the full month-end close process.
• Experience within construction, contracting, engineering, property services, or another project-based environment.
• Strong understanding of WIP, contract revenue recognition, valuations, retentions and CIS.
• Experience producing multi-entity or divisional management accounts.
• Experience preparing audit files and liaising directly with external auditors.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial performance to operational managers and senior stakeholders.
• Part-qualified, finalist, newly qualified or fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA candidates will all be considered.

Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journals, reconciliations and management reporting.
• Produce divisional and consolidated management accounts with insightful variance analysis.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Support WIP reporting, contract revenue recognition, valuations and retention accounting.
• Prepare management reporting packs for senior leadership.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Prepare audit schedules and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams, translating financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

The Opportunity

An established and growing construction and property services business is seeking a Management Accountant to take ownership of the monthly finance cycle and provide meaningful financial insight across multiple divisions.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate management information, maintaining balance sheet integrity, overseeing work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and supporting audit readiness ahead of the next external audit cycle. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence commercial decision-making across the business.
