The Vacancy:

We're seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our accounting team in a hybrid role based in London.

The Management Accountant will oversee 6 of our group entities. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial processes. They will work closely with the finance and compliance teams to uphold regulatory standards while contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
  3. Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  4. Generate timely and accurate management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Support the FP&A team for the annual and half-yearly budgeting process.
  6. Stay abreast of regulatory changes in the financial services industry and ensure the company's adherence to all relevant regulations.
  7. Coordinate external audits, ensuring timely completion and accurate representation of financial data across the group.
  8. Address and resolve audit queries and recommendations.
  9. Ensure timely VAT reporting, including correct calculation of partial exemption.
  10. Ensure compliance with all taxation requirements.
  11. Assist in the preparation of tax filings and respond to tax inquiries.
  12. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, aiding a quicker month-end close.

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Qualified or finalist level accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  2. Proven experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a regulated payment acquirer or similar environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP and financial regulations.
  4. Experience managing external audits and interacting with auditors.
  5. Proficient in using NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
