Job description

Contract Length: Initially 3 months with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Work Schedule :Full time, Monday - Friday

Hybrid Working - Initially 4 day in Office per week - Negotiable after initial period

Spencer Clarke Group is working alongside a local authority in South London to assist in the hiring of a Management Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Using business analysis techniques, lead the annual business planning and budget setting processes. Prepare all budgets, financial plans, year-end accounts and ensure their submission to the Board and the local authority in accordance with agreed timescales.
• Lead the Service’s finance function, ensuring that efficient and effective financial systems and processes are in place to meet all legal and statutory accounting and reporting requirements.
• Lead on regular monthly budget meetings with business area to challenge, scrutinise, to offer critical evaluation of the budget, spend and forecast.

What we are looking for:

• Qualified Accountant or AAT qualified with at least 3 years’ experience of working in a finance environment.
• At least three years’ experience of working in a public, charity or voluntary organization (experience of education would be an advantage)
