Job summary

RG Consultancy Ltd in Liverpool is seeking a knowledgeable Management Accountant to join a growing engineering business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be a part-qualified CIMA/ACCA candidate taking ownership of monthly management accounts and the month-end close, providing clear financial insight to senior management.

The role includes supervising a team of 4, supporting budgets/forecasts, cash flow, and year-end processes, with a 37.5 hour week, generous holiday, pension, and life

Qualifications

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts (P&L & balance sheet).
• Own month-end process including journals, accruals & prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Produce variance analysis vs budget/forecast/prior year.
• Provide financial insight to senior management.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor costs and KPIs with operational teams.
• Support cash flow forecasting and year-end/audit requirements.

Job description

RG Consultancy are delighted to be working with a successful engineering company based in the heart of Liverpool to recruit a knowledgeable Management Accountant. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role is an excellent opportunity for a part / qualified CIMA or ACCA candidate to join a growing team.

Skills include but are not limited to:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reporting
• Take ownership of the month-end process, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
• Produce detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year results
• Provide clear financial insight to senior management
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Monitor business performance, costs and KPIs
• Work closely with operational teams to improve financial understanding and cost control
• Support cash flow forecasting
• Assist with year-end accounts and external audit requirements
• Prepare VAT returns and other financial information where required
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
• Provide financial analysis and support on ad hoc projects as required
• Managing a team of 4 within finance
• 2 years' experience within a senior finance role
