Heap & Co - Accountancy & Finance Recruitment Specialists in Huntingdon is seeking a driven Management Accountant to support monthly reporting and business partnering across operations. You’ll work closely with the Financial Controller and gain exposure to accounting processes, journals, reconciliations, and budgeting.

The role suits a part-qualified accountant looking to accelerate development in a commercially focused team.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience within a finance environment
• Experience supporting the production of management accounts
• Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Power BI exposure
• Understanding of Accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Delivering insightful financial analysis and variance commentary
• Assisting with annual audit preparation
• Partnering with internal stakeholders across the business
• Contributing to finance transformation, process improvement and cost‑saving initiatives

Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller, you’ll gain broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in supporting the monthly reporting cycle while contributing to projects that drive efficiencies and support business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive attitude and a desire to progress.

• Experience supporting the production of management accounts
• Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A positive, hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn
• Power BI exposure
• Understanding of Accounting standards.
