ACS Performance is seeking a proactive Management Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, budgeting and month-end closing across multiple operating companies. You will produce meaningful financial analysis to guide business decisions and drive profitability.

Qualifications

• AAT qualification or finalist studying towards ACCA.

Responsibilities

• Manage key month-end activities including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly supplier invoice reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting including margin analysis.
• Review loss-making customers and identify profitability improvements.

Management Accountant

Location: Horsham
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: Up to £40,000, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm (40 hours per week)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and effective financial control within a growing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders, analysing financial performance and using financial data to support business decisions.

You will play a key role in the month-end process, preparation of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency. You will also provide meaningful financial insights to support strategic decision‑making across the business.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, organised and confident working in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage key month-end activities, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss reporting, and financial commentary across multiple operating companies.
• Support monthly supplier invoice reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, elevate issues where necessary and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI reports and financial analysis to support informed business decisions.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including margin and profitability analysis.
• Review loss‑making customers and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Manage supplier account queries and support payment runs, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
• Present monthly financial results and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to senior finance stakeholders.
• Work closely with colleagues across departments to support effective financial management and business performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum AAT qualification or be a finalist studying towards ACCA.
• A strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Demonstrable knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• The ability to analyse financial data, identify trends and provide insights to support decision‑making.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using financial systems and accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• A proactive, positive and approachable attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
• A flexible approach and willingness to support the wider finance function as required.
