Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accounts are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, journals and other month-end adjustments.
• Analyse financial performance and key variances against budget/forecast.
• Produce regular management reports and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Manage and review accounts payable/receivable activity and keep ledgers accurate.
• Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations.
• Support wider finance team with process improvements and ad-hoc analysis

Management Accountant – About The Role

In this role, you will be working within a finance team of 3 and will reporting into the Financial Controller. You will be supporting with the daily running of the finance function, being a key player at month end. Your key responsibilities will be:

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accounts are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, journals and other month-end adjustments.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying key variances against budget and forecast.
• Produce regular management reports and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, ensuring the underlying ledgers remain accurate.
• Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations.
• Support the wider finance team with process improvements and ad-hoc financial analysis

The successful Management Accountant will have:

• Previous experience in a similar finance position
• Currently or looking to study AAT/ACCA/CIMA
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience in using Xero would be advantageous
• Ability to communicate at all levels
