Job summary

Reed Finance are recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of an established client in the Horsham area. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and robust financial control across the business.

You will own month-end activities, prepare management accounts and KPI reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and present results to the CFO. AAT qualified or ACCA student, strong Excel and communication skills are required in a dynamic team

Qualifications

• Minimum AAT qualified or ACCA studier/finalist, with a strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting, with the ability to identify trends, analyse performance, and support financial decision-making.
• Strong IT skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence using a range of financial systems and software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
• A positive, proactive, and personable approach, with the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
• Self-motivated and highly organised, with the ability to manage priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own key month-end activities, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L preparation, and commentary for multiple operating companies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI reports, and financial analysis to support informed business decision-making.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, undertake margin and profitability analysis, and review loss-making customers to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage supplier account queries and support payment runs, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
• Present monthly financial results and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to the CFO.
