Job summary

Vertu Volkswagen Hereford is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our team. The role suits an experienced Management Accountant or an Assistant Accountant ready to step up, with a strong eye for detail and analytical capability.

You will produce management accounts, forecasts, payroll, accruals, cashflow and balance sheet reconciliations while supporting the team and driving performance across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant.
• Strong numerical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce management accounts for review by the team.
• Prepare forecasts and estimates to aid decision making.
• Process payroll and manage accruals/prepayments.
• Handle cashflow management and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile manufacturer bonuses and prepare reports for management.
• Create spreadsheets and statistical reports for the team.
• Coach and develop colleagues within the finance team.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant
• Motor trade experience and knowledge of Kerridge (or similar systems) preferred but not essential
• Strong communication skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Excellent numerical and organisational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with the teamto produce accurate financial information, enabling effective business decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing management accounts
• Forecasts and estimates
• Payroll processing
• Accruals and prepayments
• Cashflow management
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconciling manufacturer bonuses
• Creating spreadsheets and statistical reports for the management team
• Coaching and developing colleagues within the finance team
