This is a fantastic opportunity with significant career progression in a large, multi-country business reporting directly to the Financial Controller (FC).

Client Details

Location: Warrington (Daresbury) with hybrid working options - 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

The company is a global distribution firm operating in 72 countries.

Description

• Manage the management accounts for the UK business with a turnover of £52 million.
• Participate actively as a member of the management team, providing financial insights and support.
• Handle all accounting queries and issues.
• Conduct ad-hoc investigations.
• Prepare reconciled monthly and year-end accounts according to schedule.
• Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
• Line manage and develop the assistant management accountant and support team colleagues.
• Contribute to central finance projects such as vehicle leasing, utilities, and Capex analysis.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Handle VAT returns.
• Assist head office with tax and statutory accounts preparation.

Profile

• Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA).
• Experience in industry or practice.
• Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excel skills: PivotTables, Lookups.
• Effective communicator with attention to detail.
• Team player with supervisory experience and industry background.
• Knowledge of VAT.

Job Offer

• Salary up to £50,000.
• Hybrid working model.
• 35-hour workweek: 8am-4pm, 8:30am-5pm, or 9am-5:30pm with 1-hour lunch.
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with an option to buy 5 extra days.
