Qualifications

Management Accountant

Location: Exeter

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where your insights will directly support commercial decisions and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management reports with insightful analysis and commentary.
  • Develop and enhance the Finance Business Partnering function to better support operational teams.
  • Collaborate closely with client-facing and support functions to provide clear financial insights.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in preparing budgets and conducting regular forecast reviews.
  • Assist in the production of financial statements and liaise with auditors during year-end processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including LLP, SORP, VAT, and Corporation Tax.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance transaction processing team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial controls and processes.
  • Promote a strong internal control culture and continuous improvement in financial operations.

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (part-qualified candidates will be considered).
  • Proven experience in producing monthly management accounts and completing month/year-end processes.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching team members.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems.
  • Awareness of data privacy and compliance standards.
