Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for SME clients.
• Complete bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments, and month-end processes.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, CIS returns, payroll information, and other statutory compliance.
• Maintain accounting records on Sage and Xero; support clients with queries and process improvements.
• Provide business support, cash flow reporting, KPI analysis, budgeting assistance, and finance guidance.

Role Summary:

We are working with a local Accountancy Practice in their search for a Management Accountant to join the team on a 12-month Fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ CIMA professional looking to broaden their experience across multiple industries and work in a dynamic client-based role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of SME clients.
• Complete bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and month-end processes.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, CIS returns, payroll information, and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records on Sage and Xero while supporting clients with bookkeeping queries and process improvements.
• Provide general business support, cash flow reporting, KPI analysis, budgeting assistance, and finance-related guidance to business owners.

Requirements

• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
• 3+ years experience in Management Accounting
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice or outsourced finance and bookkeeping
• Working knowledge of Sage and Xero accounting software.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, VAT, payroll, and month-end accounting procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of clients.
