Connected Finance is recruiting a Management Accountant for a diverse and fast-growing client based in Chesterfield. You will join a close-knit finance team handling a varied portfolio of brands and contribute to robust financial processes and month-end close.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and involves preparing management accounts, cash forecasting support, and coordinating with external auditors. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Formación

• Experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with financial data.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Process month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and support cashflow forecasting.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and maintain supplier records.
• Reconcile revenue from multiple booking and sales systems and support stocktakes.
• Prepare VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.
• Support annual audit preparation and liaise with external accountants.

Connected Finance is recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of our client, a diverse and fast-growing group of businesses based in Chesterfield

This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional to join a passionate, close-knit team and gain exposure to a genuinely varied group of businesses.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in the financial management of the business, preparing accurate management accounts, maintaining effective financial processes, and supporting the day-to-day finance operations across a diverse portfolio of brands.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Completing bank reconciliations and supporting group cashflow forecasting.
• Preparing supplier payment runs and maintaining supplier records.
• Reconciling revenue from multiple booking and sales systems, and supporting stocktakes.
• Preparing VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.
• Supporting annual audit preparation and liaising with external accountants and auditors.
• Building strong working relationships across the wider business and finance team.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Desirable:

• Experience preparing management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• Experience preparing VAT returns.
• AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
