Connected Finance is recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of our client, a diverse and fast-growing group of businesses based in Chesterfield. You will join a passionate, close-knit team and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of brands.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will prepare monthly management accounts, perform reconciliations, assist with VAT, and support year-end audits while driving accurate financial processes across the wider business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Responsabilités

• Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Completing bank reconciliations and supporting group cashflow forecasting.
• Preparing supplier payment runs and maintaining supplier records.
• Reconciling revenue from multiple booking and sales systems, and supporting stocktakes.
• Preparing VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller.
• Supporting annual audit preparation and liaising with external accountants and auditors.
• Building strong working relationships across the wider business and finance team.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in the financial management of the business, preparing accurate management accounts, maintaining effective financial processes, and supporting the day-to-day finance operations across a diverse portfolio of brands.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing monthly management accounts across multiple group companies.
• Processing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.

• AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
