Management Accountant

Our esteemed client, a prestigious entity in the Insurance sector, is actively seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to enrich their finance department. This full-time, permanent opportunity is based at their well-established offices in the financial district.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves assisting with Financial Accounting, period close, and bank reconciliations.

Skills / Knowledge

• Good knowledge and experience across ERP (sub-ledgers and ledger) aspects of accounting systems and processes.
• Good understanding of external reporting standards (e.g., Solvency II, statutory reporting, IFRS 17).
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of data analysis.
• Effective communication skills within a team.
• Pro-active mindset to improve local and functional processes.

Experience

• Experience in financial operations within a regulated Financial Services environment.
• Experience in process optimisation and continuous improvement in finance operations.
• Experience managing data quality, analysis, and traceability for reporting.
• At least 3 years of experience working with actuarial and finance departments in an insurance company.
• Experience with regulatory reporting regimes (GAAP, IFRS17, SII) is desirable.
• Experience working with SAP data is desirable.
• Strong skills in MS SQL Server, Excel, and Access; experience with VBA, R, or Python is a plus.
• Experience with Azure cloud-based systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of ResQ or similar actuarial reserving tools is desirable.
• Strong understanding of data structures, database design, and cloud-based data environments.
• Experience with data reconciliation, automation, and financial reporting processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across actuarial, finance, and operations teams.
