Job summary

Veolia in Hertfordshire is seeking a fully qualified ACCA or CIMA Accountant to lead financial reporting and control for the Herts region in a hybrid role with 3 days on-site and occasional travel within the region.

You will manage monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasts and budgets, capex reporting and KPI analysis while partnering with operations to drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA Accountant.
• Experience in business partnering is desirable.
• Good working knowledge of spreadsheets.
• Working knowledge of Workday and SAP preferred.
• Strong presentation, communication and organisational skills.
• Strategic planning and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in financial reporting and financial control for the Herts region.
• Deliver accurate financial information with operations team.
• Produce monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets and Long Term Plan with senior finance leaders.
• Oversee capital expenditure reporting and KPI analysis.
• Analyze financial data and support contract performance and changes in service.

Salary: 45,000 to 50,000 plus car allowance, generous bonus scheme and enhanced pension
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Hybrid with 3 days in our Hertfordshire site per week and occasional travel to other depots in the region

What you'll be doing:

You will provide leadership in all aspects of financial reporting and financial control for our Herts region. To be a member of the Finance team working closely with the operational business.

• Working with operational management to deliver accurate financial information
• Production and analysis of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing the account certifications for direct reports to ensure that they can withstand audit scrutiny
• Preparation of forecasts, budgets and Long Term Plan in conjunction with the General Manager, Finance Manager and Financial Controller
• Control and reporting of capital expenditure
• Financial analysis of operational data and KPI
• Post investment financial review and analysis of long term financial performance
• Working with clients on contract performance and adapting to any changes in service

What we're looking for:

• A fully qualified ACCA or CIMA Accountant with previous relevant experience
• Previous experience business partnering preferable
• Good working knowledge of spreadsheets
• Broad system skills preferably with working knowledge of Workday and SAP
• Strong presentation, communication and organisational skills
• Strategic planning and leadership skills.
