Job summary

Veolia Hampshire seeks an ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant to lead financial reporting and control for the Hampshire region. You will work with operations to deliver accurate monthly accounts, forecasts and long-term plans, and support audits and capital control. Hybrid working is available within Hampshire.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, collaboration with management, and strong knowledge of Workday or SAP. A relevant accounting background and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant with relevant experience.
• Strong presentation, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience in financial reporting and business partnering is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in financial reporting and financial control for the Hampshire region.
• Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and forecasts.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review account certifications for audit readiness.
• Collaborate with General Manager and Financial Controller on budgets and long-term plans.
• Coordinate statutory accounts and liaise with group auditors.
• Analyse capital expenditure and financial KPI performance.
• Support contract performance and respond to service changes.

What you’ll be doing:

You will provide leadership in all aspects of financial reporting and financial control for our Hampshire region. To be a member of the Finance team working closely with the operational business.

• Working with operational management to deliver accurate financial information
• Production and analysis of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing the account certifications for direct reports to ensure that they can withstand audit scrutiny
• Preparation of forecasts, budgets and Long Term Plan in conjunction with the General Manager and Financial Controller
• Statutory accounts preparation and liaison with Group auditors
• Control and reporting of capital expenditure
• Financial analysis of operational data and KPI
• Post investment financial review and analysis of long term financial performance
• Working with clients on contract performance and adapting to any changes in service

What we’re looking for:

• A fully qualified ACCA or CIMA Accountant with previous relevant experience
• Previous experience business partnering preferable
• Good working knowledge of spreadsheets
• Broad system skills preferably with working knowledge of Workday and SAP
• Strong presentation, communication and organisational skills
• Strategic planning and leadership skills.
