Job summary

Marks Sattin Ltd in North Bristol is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business for a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role offers hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week from home.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in management accounting within a manufacturing environment, excelling in performance analysis and stakeholder partnership. The salary range is £45,000 to £55,000.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.

Management Accountant

North Bristol, 12 month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity cover)

Hybrid working (minimum 1 day per week from home, with flexibility for 2 days)

£45,000 - £55,000

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role offers exposure to operational finance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and would suit an accomplished management accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, analysing performance, and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and support month and year-end close processes
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
• Provide detailed cost and variance analysis, investigating root causes and supporting corrective actions
• Partner with site leadership to improve financial and operational performance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with audit requirements and reporting obligations
• Deliver accurate and timely financial information to support business decision-making
• Contribute to process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

About You

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Manufacturing experience is essential
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights
• Experience of working with ERP systems
• Comfortable working independently while building strong relationships across the business
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will all be considered
