Job summary

Apointe is partnering with a leading international business to recruit a Management Accountant for their growing finance team in Thames Valley. The role suits a part-qualified accountant seeking to accelerate their career within a large, supportive organisation.

You will gain exposure to month-end reporting, budgeting and business partnering while continuing your professional studies. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in Management Accounts or finance analysis.
• Strong month-end, reconciliations, and journal postings knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on variances.
• Support cash flow reporting and working capital analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure internal controls.
• Partner with budget holders to monitor costs and performance.
• Contribute to process improvements across finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on key variances.
• Support cash flow reporting and working capital analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Partner with budget holders and operational teams to help monitor costs and performance.
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements across the finance function.

About You

• Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a Management Accounts, Assistant Accountant or Finance Analyst role.
• Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations and journal postings.
• Good Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Eager to learn and develop within a commercial finance environment.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Positive, proactive and keen to take ownership of your work.
