Job summary

Howarth Timber Group in Malton is seeking an Internal Sales team member to deliver outstanding customer service and drive sales at our timber and builders merchant branch. You will engage customers on the sales counter and by phone, building relationships and repeat business in a busy environment.

The role requires strong communication, product knowledge, attention to detail and a flexible, full-time attitude.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and experience.
• Strong telephone experience and excellent face-to-face communication skills.
• Previous sales experience with a commercially-driven attitude.
• Product knowledge relevant to our industry would be preferable, training can be given.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers over the phone and face to face on the sales counter, building relationships and repeat business.
• Handle incoming calls and emails and deal with a wide range of customer enquiries.
• Work closely with Branch sales team on enquiries and order processing.
• Maintain accurate stock management and core stock levels.

• serving customers both over the phone and face to face on the sales counter, building relationships, repeat business and add-on sales
• handle incoming telephone calls/emails and deal with a wide range of customer enquiries
• working closely and effectively with colleagues as part of the overall Branch sales team with enquiries and order processing
• maintain accurate stock management
• maintain core stock levels and manage out obsolete stock
• maintaining a well-stocked, clean, tidy and safe working environment, adhering to the Company's health and safety policy and procedure at all times

What are the requirements to become part of our team?

• Excellent customer service skills and experience; knowing what great service feels like to our customers is really important to us
• Strong telephone experience and excellent face-to-face communication skills
• Previous sales experience with a commercially-driven attitude
• Product knowledge relevant to our industry sector would be preferable, although full training can be given to the right applicant
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A flexible attitude
• Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday inclusive, plus alternate Saturday mornings (0800-1200)
