Job summary

The Boortmalt Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an Operator Assistant to support shift operators and engineers in a malting facility. The role involves practical hands-on work with malting processes, safety inspections, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the full malting process from barley intake to despatch.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to follow process instructions and work on own initiative.
• Commitment to health & safety and site hygiene.
• Willingness to complete MAGB Fundamentals in Malting within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Shift Operators and engineers as required.
• Operate weighbridge and load malt & co-products.
• Carry out site hygiene duties and safety inspections.
• Attend daily operations meetings and contribute actively.
• Complete safety and equipment operation trainings as needed.
• Support continual improvement initiatives on site.
