Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable Shopping Centre Cleaner to join our housekeeping team at FORGE Shopping Centre. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across a busy environment to ensure a safe, welcoming experience for customers, tenants and visitors.

Key responsibilities include cleaning general areas, maintaining public spaces, and replenishing consumables, with COSHH and health & safety procedures followed.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to work in a busy public environment.
• Flexible approach to working hours including evenings, weekends and holidays if required.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures is desirable.
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas including malls, corridors, entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators, stairwells and staff areas.
• Sweep, mop, polish, and disinfect surfaces as required.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to spillages and cleaning emergencies to maintain safety standards.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and hand towels in washrooms.
• Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
• Always follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards or damages to supervisors.
• Work as part of a team to ensure the shopping centre remains clean, presentable, and operational during busy trading periods.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public.
