Job summary

Keys Group in Maidenhead is seeking a Male Support Worker to assist residents at Danes House with daily living, independence and wellbeing.

You will provide day-to-day support, accompany to appointments, help with life skills, personal care, cooking and budgeting, and work 37.5 hours per week at £13.45–£14.15 per hour. A full UK driving license is required and flexibility for day and night shifts is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a full UK Manual Driving License.
  • Willingness to work day and night shifts as required.
  • Male candidate required due to genuine occupational need.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and routine for residents.
  • Encourage independence and participation in activities.
  • Support development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Assist with health care needs and accompany to appointments or administer medication.
  • Teach life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
  • Assist with personal care as needed.
  • Assist with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
  • Offer guidance and emotional support to residents.

Please note we require a Male Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule

About Danes House

Our specialist Supported Living and Outreach service in Maidenhead, provides support for people with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health. We understand the importance of providing person-centred support that enables independence and meets each individual's needs.

As a Support Worker, You Will Be Involved In The Day To Day Support And Routine Of The People Within The Service Including

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
