Job description

Role Description: Mental Health Support Worker

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a team of mental health support workers in the Runcorn area of Liverpool to support a gentleman in his 30s diagnosed with psychosis. He lives independently and receives 1:1 support 24 hours a day. He has a good sense of humour, enjoys outdoor walks, swimming, and playing video games. The support team will be male-only, working on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in social care, preferably within mental health, and supporting individuals with schizophrenia.
• Ability to encourage individuals with complex health needs and learning disabilities.
• Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.
• Experience implementing care plans and risk assessments.
• Must have the right to work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. Sponsorship is not available.
• Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.

Hours

24-hour contracts with 2 x 12-hour shifts per week during the day, from 8 am to 8 pm, plus 1 sleep shift at GBP 100 per sleep.

Induction and Training

Initial training includes online modules covering company induction, systems, and medication. This is followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a PBS approach promoting least restrictive practices, and person-centered training tailored to the individual supported. Ongoing training and career development are encouraged.
