‘Northern Case Management: The balance of client advocacy and accountability, which empowers rehabilitation in a nurturing and professional environment’.

Please note we are NOT able to offer sponsorship for this role and therefore will not be able to progress any candidates who require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK.

We are looking to recruit a full team of experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Male Support Workers and/or bank staff to work in the Blundellsands area of Crosby. Our client currently resides in a Rehab Facility in Speke and will be discharged into his fully adapted home with his family in December 2023. The team will be pivotal in supporting our client during the transitional phase at home, while supporting his family.

Meet our client:

I am a 43-year-old male with a severe brain injury following an RTA. My behaviour can sometimes be unpredictable, especially around new people, as I can be anxious until I get to know you properly. Once familiar, I have a great sense of humour, enjoy having ‘banta’, and like to wind people up and play pranks with my young son.

I have two children—a son with autism and ADHD, and a daughter. They are my main motivation for my rehabilitation.

I enjoy playing board games, trips to the zoo, bowling, amusement arcades, walks on the beach, and walking my pet dog. I used to be a chef before my injury and look forward to cooking and baking again, especially baking with my children.

I love music, especially Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, Paul Weller, and Santana. I enjoy concerts, dancing in my chair, and watching comedy shows like Netflix’s Shameless and live football, particularly Liverpool FC.

**Please note: We are recruiting Male Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support, making this role exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

What you will be working:

36 hours per week on a rolling rota, 7 days per week:

  • Day Shifts
  • Wake Night Shifts
  • Sleep Night Shifts: 11:00 pm - 8:00 am

What you will be doing:

Cover all hours (24/7) in rotation, including holidays and sickness periods of other care team members.

Motivated and enthusiastic males/females are required, committed to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for someone with a brain injury. You will develop your skills while delivering care in the client’s own or family home.

You will undertake a range of duties to support the client, working closely with the team to ensure high standards of healthcare, facilitate activities of daily living, support community engagement, and assist with therapy.

The role requires working independently and as part of a team, conducting yourself professionally. Reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness are essential.

What you will have:

  • A genuine interest in providing person-centred care
  • Previous experience with individuals with brain injuries (desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided)
  • Experience dealing with challenging behaviours (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (successful candidates)

What to look forward to:

  • Competitive salary: £ per hour weekdays/waking nights (£100), £ per hour weekend days/waking nights (£110)
