Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a registered Social Worker to join the Major Trauma Service at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. You will work across disciplines to identify and intervene early for patients needing social work input and lead in delivering expert social work advice to patients, carers and health professionals.

Based in the Royal Infirmary, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred care for older people and vulnerable adults, supporting safe discharge

Qualifications

• Registered social worker with SSSC registration and recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead social work input for Major Trauma patients across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support early identification, discharge planning and risk management.
• Provide advice to patients, carers and health professionals within the Major Trauma Service.
• Ensure equity and rights are balanced with safety and care planning.
