Job summary

Synergy Medical is recruiting a General Major Scrub to join theatres across South East England. You will provide scrub support for major procedures, ensuring sterile technique, instrument handling, and close collaboration with surgeons and the wider team.

The position requires UK theatre experience, HCPC/NMC registration, and a patient-safety focus. Flexible hours and agency opportunities are available, with dedicated consultancy support from Synergy Medical.

Qualifications

• Experience as a scrub practitioner within a theatre setting.
• Strong knowledge of major surgical procedures and sterile technique.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to support a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub support during major surgical procedures.
• Prepare and handle surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and aseptic practices.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs during procedures.
• Support patient safety and positioning.
• Prepare and check theatre equipment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with the theatre team.
