Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking an experienced Bank Scrub Practitioner to join our Theatre team in the UK. This 0-hour bank contract offers flexible shifts and exposure to a range of surgical specialties alongside a supportive clinical team.

You will prepare theatre environments, assist during procedures, maintain infection control, and contribute to audits and continuous improvement. A minimum of two years scrub experience and qualifications in theatre or day surgery are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' scrub experience.
• Clinical experience across Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Gynaecology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Understanding of infection prevention and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Computer literacy and accurate record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Support safe and effective delivery of surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
• Prepare theatre equipment, instrument trays and consumables.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Undertake scrub duties and monitor swab, needle and instrument counts.
• Run theatre lists efficiently and in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Support junior and unqualified colleagues in the department.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
• Participate in clinical audit, KPI monitoring and service improvement.
• Assist with education, training and development of new colleagues and students.
• Contribute to a positive, patient-focused theatre environment.
