About the Role

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has contributed significantly to the development of the Liverpool City Region since its creation in 2014, becoming a Mayoral Combined Authority in 2017. We continue to grow rapidly, with further powers expected to be devolved soon. Using these powers, we aim to make a meaningful difference to the lives of residents, workers, and visitors in the region.

We are looking forward to growth within our team to meet these demands, working together on investments and decisions impacting communities in areas such as transport, employment, culture, digital, and housing.

Responsibilities

• Leading and advising on major development projects.
• Drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements for the LCRCA, Merseytravel, and associated companies.
• Providing daily support to senior officers across the organisation, offering legal advice and guidance.

About the Person

You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or CILEX with significant post-qualification experience, preferably in Transport and Infrastructure projects. Leadership or management experience is also desirable.

The role requires a strong understanding of legal issues related to transport and infrastructure projects. You should be a team player, capable of building trust with colleagues and clients, with excellent attention to detail and risk assessment skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to influence and instil confidence in your advice.

You will work closely with senior officers, often Directors, so the ability to influence and communicate effectively is crucial.
