Our AI lawyer Lawrence is built on a fine-tuned LLM and has recently passed the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE).

The Role

Are you passionate about law and excited about legal technology? We're seeking a forward-thinking lawyer with civil litigation experience, focusing on landlord and tenant disputes, property litigation, and boundary/neighbour disputes. This fee-earning role involves working alongside cutting-edge AI technology to improve and refine our AI lawyer, Lawrence, and to shape the future of legal AI-human collaboration.

If you have 3-5 years PQE and are eager to combine legal expertise with innovative tech, this role is ideal for you.

What the Job Involves

  • Managing civil litigation caseloads, focusing on:
    • Landlord and tenant advice (possession proceedings, rent arrears, breaches of tenancy agreements, etc.)
    • Neighbour/boundary disputes & small claims
    • Residential property advice, including equity transfers
  • Providing critical feedback on AI-generated work to improve its quality and consistency.
  • Collaborating on designing workflows to optimize lawyer-AI cooperation.
  • Using AI to draft legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence, while correcting errors and providing feedback.
  • Advising clients on case merits, potential outcomes, and next steps.
  • Requirements

    • 3+ years PQE in civil litigation and/or dispute resolution
    • Strong organizational skills for high-volume caseload management
    • Interest in Legaltech and AI applications in law
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly
    • Technologically proficient, adaptable to various software platforms
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Empathy and patience in client interactions
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Motivated, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment
    • Remote work capability
    Desirable
    • Experience with local councils or housing associations
    • Experience with law centres or pro bono work
    • Knowledge of family law and private client work
