JP Medicals Recruitment is recruiting a Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner (Nurse/ODP) to join the team at Spire Bristol Hospital on regular and flexible shifts. The role involves preparing surgical equipment, delivering perioperative care, and supporting the Operating Department.

Requirements include active NMC or HCPC registration and a DBS (Update Service) or DBS application. Experience in major orthopaedic scrub, particularly lower limb surgeries, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active NMC or HCPC registration is required.
• DBS update service or DBS application for suitable candidate.
• Experience in Major Orthopaedic Scrub, especiallyLower Limb surgeries (hips/knees).

Responsibilities

• Assemble, check and prepare surgical equipment, instruments and consumables.
• Deliver safe quality perioperative care for patients.
• Support and assist in management of care in the Operating Department.
• Assist in delivery of patient care and contribute to quality improvement.
• Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others within the team.
• Promote best evidence-based practice within scope of practice.
• Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
• Maintain Health and Safety knowledge and ensure appropriate measures.
• Achieve objectives and demonstrate CHG behaviours.

Job Description

• Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
  

• To deliver safe quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.
  

• To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department.
  

• Assist in the delivery of patient care.
  

• Contribute to quality improvement.

Requirements

Requirements of Major Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner Job in Bristol

• An active NMC or HCPC registration

• Proven experience in Major Orthopaedic Scrub, particularly in Lower Limb surgeries (Hips + Knees).
  

• Familiarity with a variety of surgical procedures and techniques. Ability to adapt to different shift patterns.
