Job summary

Select Engineering is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to support new automation projects. You will respond to breakdowns on production equipment, complete weekend project work, and perform preventive maintenance tasks.

The role requires HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, strong electrical and mechanical experience, LO TO competency, and familiarity with Siemens S7 or Allen-Bradley PLCs. Weekend shifts are Sat, Sun and Mon 06:00–18:00.

Qualifications

• Requires HNC/HND in engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a similar maintenance role on production equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical production equipment experience essential.
• Competence in LOTO procedures.
• Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLC experience preferred.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations advantageous.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Respond to production equipment breakdowns and resolve issues.
• Complete weekend project activities and PM tasks.
• Maintain End of Shift 5S standards in workshop and clean-down.
• Identify breakdown and PM trends; perform root cause analysis.
• Perform fault reports and audits; support stock ordering.
• Oversee electrical and mechanical installation of new machinery.
• Assist Electrical Duty Holder with system management and compliance.

Overview

A global Tier 1 supplier is seeking additional maintenance staff to support new automation projects. The role will be responsible for responding to Production equipment breakdowns (if applicable), completing Weekend project activities and preparing and executing activities for Preventive Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all production breakdowns are supported and resolved.
• Complete all maintenance tasks including PMs, stock ordering, audits, investigations, and fault reports.
• Ensure End of Shift 5S standards are maintained in the workshop and end-of-shift clean down is completed.
• Identify any breakdown trends or PM report trends and complete any necessary actions.
• Engage in root cause analysis of repeat/major breakdowns.
• Complete weekend work list.
• Manage electrical and mechanical installation of new machinery.
• Support the Electrical Duty Holder with system management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be qualified to HNC/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline and have proven experience in a similar role.
• Electrical and mechanical production equipment experience.
• Competence in LOTO.
• Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is advantageous.
• IOSH Managing Safely.

The weekend shift covers Sat, Sun and Mon – 06:00 to 18:00.
