Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Multi-Skilled)

The Role

To maintain a range of buildings services, plant, and equipment, which can sometimes be complex and non-routine, by diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur.

Maintain NHS Lanarkshire’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, associated building services plant, and building fabric assets to a high standard.

This will include planning and prioritising daily workload and material management requirements, including documentation, completion, and sign-off.

What We Need from You
  • Completion of an apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Bias plus an HNC or equivalent, with additional non-core training qualifications at SVQ level or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an estates service environment.
  • Knowledge of current statutory legislative requirements.
  • Experience in inspecting and planning work related to PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Willingness to undertake in-house training relevant to the position, such as statutory training, Archibus, Learnpro, and Toolbox Talks.
  • Additional training in portable appliance testing, periodic testing, sterilizers, asbestos awareness, legionella prevention, tube system maintenance, PLC controllers, steam/boilers, etc., to achieve competency and/or accreditation.
  • Accredited courses in boiler/steam, medical gases, sterilizers, autoclaves, and healthcare ventilation to ensure competent person status.
  • Driving license valid for the UK/EU/EEA countries.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • An apprenticeship in a core trade with further training in non-core skills.
  • HNC or equivalent in a core subject with additional qualifications as required.
  • At least 4 years of apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, or equivalent.
  • Basic training in health & safety, manual handling, and CPR.
Contract Details

Permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week.

Location and Working Pattern

Based in PSSD Maintenance department within Law House. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30, and Friday 08:00 - 13:30.
