Job description

The Role

To maintain a range of buildings services, plant, and equipment, which can sometimes be complex and non-routine, by diagnosing and repairing faults as they occur.

Maintain NHSL’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, associated building services plant, and building fabric assets to a high standard.

This will include planning and prioritising daily workload and material management requirements, including documentation, completion, and sign-off.

What you'll need to bring

Completion of an apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Bias, plus an HNC or equivalent, with additional non-core training qualifications at SVQ level or equivalent.

Additional requirements:

  • Experience in an estates service environment.
  • Knowledge of current statutory legislative requirements.
  • Experience with inspecting and planning work related to PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Training in statutory requirements, Archibus, Learnpro, Toolbox Talks, and other relevant areas.
  • Accredited courses in Boiler/Steam, Medical Gas, Sterilisers, Healthcare Ventilation, and specialist equipment, to ensure competency and meet HSE and insurance requirements.
  • A full UK/EU/EEA driving license.
Desirable skills and qualifications
  • Apprenticeship in a core trade with further training in non-core skills.
  • HNC or equivalent in a core subject, with additional qualifications as required.
  • At least 4 years of apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with City & Guilds Part 3, ONC, or equivalent.
  • Basic training in Health & Safety, Manual Handling, and CPR.
Contract details

Permanent, full-time (37 hours).

Location and working pattern

Based in PSSD Maintenance department within Law House.

Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30, with Friday 08:00 - 13:30.
