Job summary

Unilin is recruiting a qualified Maintenance Technician MT2 to join its site team in the UK. The role involves electrical/mechanical maintenance, problem solving, and multi-skilling to keep production running efficiently.

The position operates on a 12-hour continental shift pattern (days/nights) with 4 days on and 4 days off, including weekends. The successful candidate will hold a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and have 4+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Min 4+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Mechanical & Electrical skillset essential
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair all factory equipment (electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical)
• Identify root causes and suggest long-term process improvements
• Maximise production efficiency and restore capacity promptly
• Record breakdowns in Pemac CMMS and carry out Preventative Maintenance as scheduled
• Participate in machine installations and continuous improvement projects
• Provide support and training to Apprentices and Trainees

Job description

We are currently recruiting for qualified and electrically bias trained Maintenance Technician (MT2), to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of maintaining high standards of work and coordinating activities to optimize their performance. This is permanent role, Continental 12hrs shifts, rotating between days and nights (4 days 4 off 4 nights 4 off)

Key Attributes

• Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
• Min 4+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

Key Tasks and Duties

• Work within the ethos and standards of the company
• Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical
• Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions
• Ensure production efficiency is maximised and return production to full capacity promptly
• Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our Pemac CMMS system
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and suggest improvements
• Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilised
• Must be able to dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings
• Take an active part in all machine installations, continuous improvements and maintenance projects
• Work with Maintenance Manager to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements
• Responsible as part of a bigger team for ensuring that all production & maintenance KPI’s are achieved
• Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met
• Liaise with relevant departments were necessary to assist in the smooth day to day running of the organization
• Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management
• Undertake training as and when required i.e. MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc
• Provide cover for the Maintenance Technicians when required
• Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines
• Work shift rotation which includes evenings and weekends
• Make yourself available for overtime as and when required
• Complete advanced training i.e. Confined Spaces, First Aiders, etc
• Complete internal MT induction training i.e. Site Training, CBM
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects
• Provide Apprentice & Trainee’s with assistance and guidance in learning and development.
