Job summary

Unilin Insulation is recruiting a qualified Maintenance Technician (MT2) to join our manufacturing team in Chesterfield. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems and driving continuous improvements.

You’ll operate on 12-hour continental shifts, rotating days and nights, four on/off cycles, to keep production running safely and efficiently. We seek a multi-skilled technician with mechanical/electrical training, 4+ years’ experience,

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Electrical based apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Min 4+ years’ Maintenance Technician experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Multi Skilled Technician Experience e.g. Mechanical & Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical.
• Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions.
• Ensure production efficiency is maximised and return production to full capacity promptly.
• Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our Pemac CMMS system.
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and suggest improvements.
• Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilised.

We are currently recruiting for qualified and electrically bias trained Maintenance Technician (MT2), to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of maintaining high standards of work and coordinating activities to optimize their performance. This is permanent role, Continental 12hrs shifts, rotating between days and nights (4 days 4 off 4 nights 4 off).

Key Tasks and Duties

• Work within the ethos and standards of the company
• Troubleshoot and repair of all factory equipment - electrical, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical
• Identify the root causes of problems and suggest process improvements for long term solutions
• Ensure production efficiency is maximised and return production to full capacity promptly
• Ensure that all breakdowns are recorded in our Pemac CMMS system
• Carry out Preventative Maintenance work as required by PM schedules and suggest improvements
• Maintain systems in place for spare parts stock and ensure system is being correctly utilised
• Must be able to dismantle, adjust, modify, improve and assemble factory equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating/repair manuals, or drawings
• Take an active part in all machine installations, continuous improvements and maintenance projects
• Work with Maintenance Manager to address causes of downtime and suggest process improvements
• Responsible as part of a bigger team for ensuring that all production & maintenance KPI’s are achieved
• Responsible for ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met
• Liaise with relevant departments were necessary to assist in the smooth day to day running of the organization
• Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management
• Undertake training as and when required i.e. MEWP, Forklift, Abrasive Wheel, PFPE, Manual Handling, Fire Extinguisher, etc
• Provide cover for the Maintenance Technicians when required
• Flexible working hours to meet production or maintenance deadlines
• Work shift rotation which includes evenings and weekends
• Make yourself available for overtime as and when required
• Complete advanced training i.e. Confined Spaces, First Aiders, etc
• Complete internal MT induction training i.e. Site Training, CBM
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement projects
• Provide Apprentice & Trainee’s with assistance and guidance in learning and development.
