Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Maintenance Officer position sits in the Residences Maintenance Team at the hospital site, featuring 144 en-suite rooms. The role covers repair, installation and servicing of electrical, mechanical and gas equipment, building fabric and utilities, with occasional grounds upkeep.

Interview includes a short practical task and checks on an electrical apprenticeship. Hospital-based role with NHS benefits, pension, and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Fully indentured electrical apprenticeship with City & Guilds certificates.
• NVQ Level 2 in plumbing or electrical, or equivalent experience.
• 17th Edition City & Guilds 2382 and 2394 initial and fundamental inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and install electrical, mechanical and gas equipment in the residential staff accommodation.
• Maintain equipment, building fabric and utility services across Trust property.
• Assist the Accommodation Manager to prioritise, programme and monitor maintenance repairs.
• Advise and support tenants, and report anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out occasional grounds maintenance (gritting, leaf sweeping, litter collection, gully cleaning, painting).
• Work hotel bathroom upgrade shifts.
