Job summary

Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a plumbing and heating engineer to join its multi-disciplinary maintenance team, keeping its sites safe and running. The role covers planned, routine and reactive maintenance of mechanical services and equipment, with fault finding and compliance inspections.

Out-of-hours on-call is rotational and a Trust vehicle is provided for use during working hours. Gas Safe registration is desirable and training may be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised apprenticeship in plumbing or mechanical engineering.
• City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Parts 1–3 or Plumbing NVQ Levels 1–3.
• BTEC or ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Planned, routine and reactive maintenance across all aspects of the service.
• Repair and maintenance of a wide range of mechanical services and equipment on site.
• Fault finding and diagnosis.
• Routine inspections to keep the estate safe and compliant.
• Carry out work in line with health and safety and relevant legislation.
• Take part in the on-call team for out-of-hours emergency service on a rotational basis.
