Job summary

Oakland Care is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at our Osbern Manor, Wigmore site to keep the home and grounds in excellent condition. You will carry out routine maintenance, repairs and decorating, and perform regular checks in line with health and safety policies to ensure residents live in a safe, comfortable environment.

This 40-hour per week, on-site role offers permanent employment, a £14 hourly rate, and opportunities to contribute to planned maintenance, support contractor visits, and

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaking or facilities role.
• Able to perform basic maintenance tasks including decorating, repairs and upkeep.
• Understand Health and Safety requirements within a workplace.
• Is proactive, organized and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent communication skills and enjoys working with older people.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and decorating throughout the home.
• Complete regular checks in line with Oakland Care's Health and Safety policies.
• Monitor and maintain equipment, fixtures and fittings.
• Make sure gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe and well-preserved.
• Assist with planned maintenance programmes and contractor visits.
• Perform basic plumbing, painting, carpentry and general maintenance tasks.
• Support with keeping accurate maintenance and safety records.
