Job summary

ZF Group in Peterlee is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, repair, develop and maintain machinery and assembly-line equipment. You'll work in a 3-shift pattern with 10 technicians per shift, contributing to round-the-clock productivity and continuous skill development.

The role requires ONC/HNC and 2–5 years in a similar field, with strong electrical/mechanical fault finding, root-cause analysis, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a similar maintenance role, ideally automotive/electronics.
• ONC / HNC qualification required.
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding skills.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, develop and maintain machinery and assembly-line equipment.
• Daily reporting of work completed.
• Manage spare parts stock and report requirements.
• Maintain workshop and tool cleanliness.
• Document and investigate root causes of machine breakdowns.
• Adhere to high HS and environmental safety standards.

• Exercise high standards of H&S at all times, including Environmental Safety Awareness

Profile description:

• ONC / HNC
• 2-5 years in a similar role, ideally automotive and electronics experience
• Electrical / Mechanical Fault finding skills
• Good understanding of root cause analysis
• PC literate like MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Team Player with positive ‘go see’ attitude being able to work under own initiative
