Salary: £40,000 + 15% Shift Allowance

Shifts: Days and back shift; Day shift: 6am – 2pm Mon – Thurs, 6am – 1.30pm Friday, Back Shift: 2pm – 12am Mon – Wed, 2pm – 11pm Thurs
A well-established and industry-leading manufacturer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their operations team. This role is integral to ensuring that plant and equipment perform to the highest standards, supporting production targets for cost, quality, and delivery.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in maximising equipment availability through proactive and reactive maintenance. Working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the role requires a high level of self-direction, with collaboration across multiple departments to ensure seamless production support.
Utilising and maintaining the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate documentation, asset control, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Responding to and resolving equipment breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
Conducting planned preventative maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability.
Coordinating with external contractors and service providers to support maintenance activities.
Assisting in the installation and commissioning of capital equipment.
Collaborating with Process Engineers to enhance equipment effectiveness.
Supporting continuous improvement projects and facilities maintenance tasks, including electrical and compressed air installations.
Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely, on time, and to business requirements.
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in automation engineering.
Qualifications: A recognised indentured apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
Experience with low-voltage fixed wiring installations and switchgear.
Knowledge of CAD, engineering drawings, and geometrical tolerances.
ABB robotics experience (advantageous but not essential).
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (preferred).
Some experience in turning, milling, and drilling operations (desirable).
Personal Attributes: Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively. A proactive and flexible approach is essential.
